The American Legion Caroline County Memorial Post 221 and Veterans of Foreign Affairs Bowling Green Post 10295 will co-host the annual Caroline County Veterans Day ceremony Nov. 11 at 11 a.m. on the old courthouse lawn in the Town of Bowling Green. This event will include the honor guard from the Caroline County Sheriff’s Office and cadets from the Cavalier Battalion of the Caroline High School JROTC. The guest speaker is Jeff Sili of the Caroline County Board of Supervisors. Come for live music and singing of patriotic songs and service anthems. Bugler Robert Vetter will render TAPS at the conclusion of the ceremony in honor of departed veterans. Light refreshments will be provided on tables located on the south end of the courthouse lawn at the end of the commemoration.
In the evening, The Town of Bowling Green invites Veterans and their families to a Veterans Commemoration and Dance from 7 to 10 p.m. at the Bowling Green Event Center, 117 Butler Street (the former USO Building). Free tickets are limited to the first 200. Tickets are available at the Town Hall Office. Entertainment will be provided by Wick Coleman and Hors d’oeuvres will be served.
