Fort A.P. Hill Veterans Day & POW MIA Observance

HILL, Va. – Soldiers, Families, Department of the Army Civilians and guests joined together today for the raising of a Prisoner of War / Missing in Action flag at the Fort A.P. Hill headquarters and a Veterans Day wreath laying ceremony at Virginia’s Congressional Medal of Honor Garden.
During his remarks at the wreath laying ceremony, Fort A.P. Hill Commander Lt. Col. Peter E. Dargle said veterans are Soldiers for life.
“During their careers and their lives – and you can see this throughout history – they continue to improve their skills, ensuring they remain strong for themselves, their families, their communities and their nation. The Army is committed to lifelong success for our Soldiers, veterans, and their families by connecting them with opportunities for employment, education and healthcare post military service,” he added.
“Dargle added, “The nation owes a great debt to its veterans, whose service to the nation spans every decade, every year, every day of our country’s existence. Whenever and wherever the nation has called, America’s veterans have been there. “
Scott D. Miller, a former Army captain and current Army Civilian, assisted Dargle with the wreath laying at the memorial.
